Wow. I've been gone way, way too long. I can't believe it's been over a year! I am ashamed of myself, I haven't even visited LJ except to join a few communities in all that time. College really is a full-time business! However, I am attempting to work my way back into the realm of LJ and fanfic. I'm making no promises, but it really is something that I want to do. I've missed "visiting" and writing and sharing with you all!

Actually, speaking of writing and sharing, part of the reason I'm here is because on a recent whim I got on ff.net and took a glance at my old LotR fanfic. After much cringing and gagging, I decided that I want to go through all those old stories and bring them to life again - I don't know if I'll ever finish them, but I at least want to polish off what I have written. Thus, I grabbed the first chapter of Folly of the Wise and rewrote it. I think it sounds quite different, hopefully in a good way. I don't know when I will get the next chapter done - I've got six short essays and two research papers to finish by Wednesday so that takes priority at the moment. However, I hope to get on it soon, and in the meantime I hope you all enjoy rereading the beginning of an old story. :D

SO sorry for the long delay!!! After procrastinating the first week I was totally knocked out by the flu the next. Because I am bored and desperately in need of something to write, and also because I've written so few things for my anime and manga fandoms, I have decided for the time being to start taking fic requests!

Yare yare, it's rather amazing how much stuff gets dropped when one gets sick around Christmas. >< After two weeks of... something... I had one week, just before Christmas, in which I was finally better and was able to get my shopping done. And then, the week of Christmas, I came down with tonsilitus. Which left me considerably better off than my younger sister, who had the stomach flu on Christmas Eve X_x, but was still a pain.

At any rate, I am at last back or nearly back to 100%, thankfully. I know that there are a lot of things that I was supposed to do over these last few weeks, and I am sorry to say that I probably haven't completed half of them. D: However, as a consolation prize, and in hobbity tradition in honor of my 18th birthday, which is today, I do have lots of downloads, icons, icon bases, and other stuff to offer you all. Hopefully there will be something for everyone to enjoy. :3

I will be updating it throughout today whenever I get the chance, as it is late now and I must be getting to bed. So check back frequently!

Yatta! I have finally written an anime/manga fanfic that was longer than a drabble!! *bounces* Actually, I wrote it a couple of weeks ago, but I finally posted it on ff.net today. Wai~, I'm so excited to be posting something again. I really ought to do this more often, since I enjoy it so much. (Alas, the trials of having a hopelessly paradoxical personality... *weeps*) Actually, I have about a week to finish another one-shot for a Nabari no Ou Secret Santa Exchange, so I will have something else to post soon, huzzah.

...And of course, there's always chapter two of my ought-to-be-more-important-than-fanfic story, which is almost 2 months overdue now. *facepalm*

Maybe it's a good thing I'm not a published author. My editor's life would be a nightmare. (Shigure and Kantarou got nothin' on my procrastination-and-good-natured-torturing skills.)

Um, okay, that's it for now. Guess I should actually go back to writing something, since it makes me happy. I need to remember this next time I start doubting that I'm meant to be a writer!!

ETA: Gosh, it just hit me that before I posted my fic, I was raging mad over some things. And now I'm perfectly happy and content! Wow, writing/posting is good for the soul. O_o

Sooo.... not much happening, I've just been sleeping for, like, four days straight due to some bug that the doctor says could be either tonsilitus or strep. It's lovely, whatever it is. :P

I have a couple of announcements to make, although I doubt they're going to come as anything ground-shaking since I've been gone for so long. Nonetheless: I really, truly do want to make a full return to LJ, but even with outside classes over for the summer, life is still incredibly busy. I've been thinking about this for a while, and I've decided that I need to prioritize my online stuff and cut down on the things I don't have time for/don't care for anymore. As a result....

1. My LJ is no longer Friends Only. This is mainly so that I don't have to bounce back and forth between this and my Xanga, and also because I hope that with my "real life" friends able to read it, that'll motivate me to post more often. :P Hey, it's worth a try...

2. This is the hard one. I hate to do it, but I honestly just don't have the time nor the will anymore: all of my fanfiction should be considered dropped from now on (I'm going to post a notice on ff.net and SoA as well). This isn't to say that I might not, in the near or not-so-near future, get a stroke of inspiration and end up wrapping up the stories I have going. But at this particular point in time, that doesn't seem likely, and it isn't fair to whatever readers I have left to keep them hanging indefinitely like that. So I might end up taking them all down from ff.net and SoA (and probably archiving them at tathar_fic)... In fact, I think that is what I'll do. I'm really sorry that it's come to this, but I don't think there's anything I can do about it.

Let it be known, though, that if anyone would like to pick up on any of my unfinished stories, you are more than welcome to do so (just please run it by me first!). Neither of my two main ones (ASL and "Folly") had too much left to go.

*sigh* Okay, got the bad news out of the way. Now I'm going to go to bed even thought I took a nap today and thus am not tired at all so I can get up early and get some stuff done before work.
